Dying to Live – Purim & the End of the Year

March 16, 2014 by Rabbi Mitterhoff Leave a Comment

sprout-800

Well it’s the end of the year and time to make a change.

Hey it’s not the end of the year!?

Yes it is! According to Torah sources Nissan is the beginning of the Jewish cycle because that’s when we became a nation by being taken out of the Egyptian womb. The Torah introduces Nissan to us as: “This month will be for you the first of months”.

This makes Purim the last holiday of the year and the grand finale!

In the germination process a seed needs to rot before it can give life to a new sprout. On purim we need to get intoxicated to prepare for our next level of growth! Out with the old in in with the new.

This Purim try to redefine yourself! Put on your mask, have few drinks and imagine and dream of who you want to be! The sky is the limit and it is just a question delving deeper into the person you want to become.

Ride the happiness and positive energy of the day to a new beginning of a higher life!

Have a freleicha Purim!
